THE LONG BIO!!!
Pamela Ruby Russell is about joy!
Having performed and recorded extensively with her original bands,
Ms. Ruby works with respected vocal coach, Mark Baxter. Early on in her career Keith Jarrett, renowned pianist, personally invited Pamela to attend his On Spontaneity Seminar! Honing her songwriting and vocal skills nurtured her other big loves, photography and writing.
Pamela has captured the world around her while working behind as well as in front of the cameras of some of New England's finest photographers. Pamela's first mentor was NYC photographer Myron "Mike" Ehrenberg. The seeds of an artist grew well under his guidance, as she sought truth and compassion in her art. Richard Avedon, Annie Liebovitz and many other artists of note have photographed Pamela over the years.
President of the Board of her local cable access TV station and former Vice Chair of her town's Democratic Committee, several decades ago Pamela organized her college's first demonstration against the Vietnam war while simultaneously hanging her premier photo exhibit, "As The River Flows So Flows the Man." An exposé of paper mills and other Hudson River polluters, Pamela photographed the river's entire coastline, from Westchester, NY up to Albany, along the NJ Palisades to the tip of Manhattan and back around to her college. To make that year even more interesting, she starred in a challenging drama, the ensemble play "Chamber Music" by Arthur Kopit, as well as Giraudoux's "The Madwoman of Chaillot."

She has the makings of a great film up her sleeve, impatiently awaiting her attentions.
Riding an elephant in a Mexican circus (Penny, an elderly circus veteran, was being well cared for.) was just one of her adventures. One magic midnight she sang atop the Temple of Quetzalcóatl at the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacán, Mexico. Come dawn, hundreds of encamped people awaiting the sunrise of a Mayan high holy day in order to pay their respects to an ancient deity honored her for purifying their sacred site with her voice. Reading Tarot cards in a Mexican bakery taught her basic Spanish, which she learned to love as a songwriter and vocalist.
In the 70's Pamela co-owned a small Provincetown restaurant, "Vital Vittles." She still loves cooking. While traveling through the Caribbean, Mexico, NYC or wherever, working out some new lyric and melody in the studio, meeting new friends, reconnecting with old ones, there's always a camera within her reach. Her portraits, fine art landscapes and heartfelt songs bring joy to her many clients and audiences.
"We're not strangers you and I. Creating art that heals is my work. Life is short and we're not always dealt easy hands. It's the playing of tough cards, with forgiveness, love and wisdom, that's what moves us through time and space in profound, useful ways. What I've learned is worth sharing! That's how and why I live!" she adds. Pamela has dedicated her life's energy to these principles, in joy!
Thank you for visiting my website, listening to and viewing my art. I wish Peace and Happiness to you and yours. Be kind.

Hanging with Mother Nature always works for me, if the weather is warm and sunny, if I have my doggies by my side. I've even been known to watch a movie and after the story has swizzled around in my brain and heart a while, if the film maker has done their job, has touched my creative soul, I find myself creating from that interlude with the silver screen... well, my TV most likely. Mostly, i try to be open and willing to feel...
